We plan to have at least one committee member present at each market, and a plaque at our table will identify who is on the committee. We encourage you to reach out to any of us with questions or concerns. There is a space at the end of this form for questions but you can also contact us at the Williamsburg Farmers Market email williamsburgiafarmersmarket@gmail.com.
If you’re interested in joining the committee, we’d love to hear from you!

Williamsburg Farmers Market Mission Statement
To provide the Williamsburg community a welcoming marketplace that promotes locally grown food, prepared foods, and crafted products sold directly to the consumer.
To support this mission and create a positive experience for everyone involved, the following Code of Conduct and Policies outline expectations for vendors participating in the Williamsburg Farmers Market.
Code Of Conduct
To help ensure a safe, welcoming, and successful market for everyone, the Williamsburg Farmers Market has adopted the following Code of Conduct. All vendors are expected to review and comply with these guidelines throughout the season:
1. Vendor Parking on the Square
Parking availability is essential to the success of the market. One of our goals is to increase foot traffic on the square, and accessible customer parking directly supports that goal.
Ten parking spots on State Street (northeast corner of the square) are reserved on Fridays from 7:00am–7:00pm for the Farmers Market unloading.
-
These spaces are reserved for vendor unloading only until 4:00pm.
-
After 4:00pm, these spots must be available for customer parking.
After unloading, vendors must move their vehicles and may NOT park on either side of State Street or Court Street, next to the square, unless a valid exception applies (such as displaying a handicap placard).
With over 80 vendors participating last season, vendor vehicles remaining on the square significantly reduces customer parking and can discourage attendance. Please help us create a positive experience for shoppers by relocating your vehicle promptly after unloading.
Alternative parking options include:
-
Williamsburg Public Library Parking Lot (300 W State St)
-
First Presbyterian Church Parking Lot (504 S Highland St)
2. Professional & Respectful Conduct
The Williamsburg Farmers Market is committed to creating a welcoming, friendly, and inclusive environment for vendors, customers, and volunteers.
Vendors are expected to:
-
Treat fellow vendors, customers, and market staff with respect
-
Communicate professionally, even in challenging situations
-
Help foster a positive atmosphere that reflects well on the market as a whole
Disruptive, confrontational, or unprofessional behavior is not aligned with the values of the market and may result in disciplinary action under the Code of Conduct.
3. Products Must Be Vendor-Made
The Williamsburg Farmers Market proudly supports local farmers, gardeners, bakers, artisans, and crafters from Iowa County and surrounding bordering counties who grow, create, or make 100% of the products they sell.
This ensures a truly handmade and homegrown experience for our customers:
-
Vendors may only sell products they personally produce
-
Wholesale or third-party products are not permitted
Code of Conduct Enforcement: “Three Strikes” Policy
To ensure fairness and consistency, violations of the Code of Conduct will follow a three-strike process:
-
First Violation: Verbal warning
-
Second Violation: Vendor will be asked to leave the market immediately and may not return until the following week.
-
Third Violation: Vendor will be asked not to return for the remainder of the season and may reapply the following year

Setting Up:
There isn't an official rule for what time to arrive, but keep in mind that there are not reserved spots or stalls for specific vendors. Set up is first come/first serve, so please be flexible if the place you were at one week is taken the next.
-
Market Start Time:
The market will begin promptly at 4pm when the bell is rung. Customers often arrive before 4pm and sales can begin once the bell is rung. Vendors may make purchases prior to the bell; we just ask that you be discreet so as not to create confusion or frustration for customers regarding the official start time. Consider simply asking vendors to hold items for you.
-
Vendor Fees & Marketing Support:
At this time, we do not charge a mandatory vendor fee. However, as our market continues to grow we want to expand our marketing efforts to attract more customers.
To help support this, we have a suggested donation of $10 per vendor this season. 100% of these funds will go directly toward marketing initiatives such as signage, ads, postcards, and flyers to promote your market and increase visibility for all vendors. Your donation can be given to one of the committee members at your first market.
Your support is greatly appreciated and helps us continue growing a vibrant, successful market!
-
Check-in:
There’s no need to let us know your full schedule in advance. Just come on the Fridays that work for you! That said, please check in with a committee member at your first market of the season. We’d love to meet you if you’re new, and we’ll also collect your cash donation at that time.
-
Weather:
The Williamsburg Farmers Market is a rain-or-shine event. Each vendor is welcome to use their own discretion when deciding whether to attend on any given week based on the weather. The market will only be formally canceled in the event of extreme or dangerous weather conditions (such as severe storms or high winds). Any cancellations will be communicated as early as possible.
-
Glassware:
If you bring glass containers, please ensure they are securely placed or weighted down, as you can expect wind gusts.
-
Dogs at the Market:
While dogs are permitted in the Williamsburg Town Square Park, we ask that vendors do not bring dogs with them to the market. This helps limit potential safety concerns and distractions in crowded areas, including interactions with customers, children, and other dogs. Our goal is to maintain a professional, safe, and welcoming environment for everyone.
